Randy is a matter-of-fact, hands-on guy. No funny business, no fluff, dead straight with his clients. If he says that your deal will close, it will; if he says that you have some risks, then you do. He has coached clients about adjustable-rate, interest-only, and low-document loans since the years they were invented. "I have seen the ups and downs of the lending industry with interests rates as low as 4.00% and as high as 17.50%."
Randy has been a real estate lender for almost 30 years. "I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in finance and real estate. My part-time jobs while in college included selling real estate and working as an appraiser."
Randy's first full-time job in 1976 was the toughest and most basic in the trade: a loan officer in Denver with Reliance Funding, then Charles F. Curry & Co, and Richard Gill, Inc.. Moving into management, though maintaining his own base of clients, Randy opened Banc Plus in Boulder in 1983.
The 1980s were a time of great change in the mortgage business, as the Savings & Loan industry slowly died. In the 1980s and 1990s Randy ran branch offices for Maryland National and Broad Street Mortgage, recruiting, training and supervising salespeople, and building a market for each one.
Boulder West has been proud to have him as a colleague since 2003.
When Randy is not at work, he can usually be found on the ski slopes in the winter, sail boarding in the summer, or visiting Montana, where he is a real estate investor (and makes loans there, too).
